Celebrating St Patrick's Day on streets of London
There is no better way for an Irish plein air painter to celebrate St Patrick's Day than to be painting out of doors on streets of London. Three days of sunny spells resulted in 3 new artworks extending Gerard's collection of British landscapes and urban scenes. The Palace of Westminster and barges on River Thames became the main subject of the artist's depiction. Passing Londoners and tourists alike acknowledged Gerrard's presence by congratulating and photographing. The new en plein air painting season 2017 has officially begun.
